Resources Guidelines for using the UCA logo [To apply throughout the Uniting Church in Australia from 1 August 1999 -issued by authority of the Assembly Standing Committee] 1. Councils of the church (Assembly, Synods, Presbyteries, Church Councils) and congregations are free to use the emblem in relation to any activity which has the support of the council, parish or congregation. 2. An officially recognised agency of a council of the church (eg. community service agency, school, synod department, presbytery committee, congregation welfare committee) is free to use the emblem in relation to any agency activities. 3. A group of church members may only use the emblem in relation to a group activity if an appropriate council of the church has approved such use [eg. for an activity in a local setting, the approval of the local Church Council is required; for a regional activity, the approval of the Presbytery or the Synod is required; for national usage, approval of the Assembly is required]. 4. No intrusion or alteration is to be made to the integrity of the emblem's design. 5. If the emblem is presented in black-and-white then the wings or flame are normally to be "hatched" with diagonal lines. 6. Where there is uncertainty as to the application of these guidelines, the matter is to be referred to the Assembly General Secretary, who shall determine the matter. Normally the General Secretary shall consult with the Assembly Associate General Secretary before making a decision. 7. The Assembly and the Assembly Standing Committee are the only bodies which may amend these guidelines. Gregor Henderson
