Decade to
Overcome Violence
On 10 December - the International Day for Human Rights - the World Council
of Churches launched its new interactive website for the Decade to Overcome
Violence (2001-2010): Churches Seeking Reconciliation and Peace: http://www.wcc-coe.org/dov
The new website provides an open space for exchanging ideas, stories, news
of resources and events, and information on organizations, networks and initiatives
related to overcoming violence and seeking reconciliation. You can contribute
information easily and fast so that it can be shared with the larger fellowship.
You can add information yourself, upload files, and create links to other existing
web pages. You can search the site using keywords and categories to find information
such as worship resources, peace education, articles on religion and violence.
Other features include a new study guide on the four DOV themes, ideas for
engaging in the Decade in your own community, a list of DOV coordinators at
national and regional levels, e-mail groups, logos, posters and more.
Join the Decade - a world-wide effort of the World Council of Churches to inspire
churches and movements to address issues of violence and promote reconciliation
and peace.
