Features of the Tenth Assembly

  • Princess TheatreThe Assembly Opening Service and Installation of the President, Rev Dr Dean Drayton will take place from 7:30pm on Saturday 12 July, at the Princess Theatre, Spring St, Melbourne;
  • Bible Studies throughout the meeting will be led by Rev Prof. Dorothy Lee, Professor of New Testament Studies in Melbourne;
  • Extensive exploration of the theme: Witness the Glory of God, including a photographic exhibition from many congregations, depicting the theme;
  • Equal emphasis on worship, community life, and effective decision making;
  • A new process of reporting, which aims to reduce the time spent listening to reports, and increase the time available to wrestle with the big issues arising from the reports;
  • The Assembly Closing Eucharist on Saturday 19th July;
  • The chance to choose from a range of electives, activities and tours covering many ministry aspects of the Uniting Church;
  • An opportunity to meet face-to-face with the President Elect, the General Secretary of the Assembly, Children at Assembly, and Overseas guests.
