Joy Pain

Belonging to the Uniting Church
Hugh McGinlay (ed)
(Uniting Church Press)
$9.95

Joy Pain was written in response to the debate on Sexuality at the Seventh and Eighth Assembly. Joy Pain is a ‘resource to assist the church in its continuing dialogue on the matters as yet unresolved in relation to sexuality.’

It contains articles and stories submitted by church members and tells of the joys and sorrows experienced in belonging within the Uniting Church during this stormy period of the Churches life. The book also includes reflections on the nature and history f the Uniting Church, some worship resources, the main decisions made at the Eighth Assembly (July 1997) as well as the statement of the Ninth Assembly (July 2000).
