Purpose

The National Committee coordinates the organisation of Adult Fellowships across Australia in the seven synods. Adult Fellowships exist in the parishes — each is the coming together of women and men in the Church for a wide variety of spiritual, social, educational, recreational, service and mission support activities. The Synod Committees have a coordinating role and the National Committee has a corresponding member on each to liaise.

Activities The National Committee has responsibilities at Assembly Level representing the UCA in women’s organisations of the Churches from which we came. This entails involvement with the World Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women and the World Alliance of Reformed Churches PACT. Program. We send a representative to the World Federation Conference held each five years and the South Pacific Area Seminar also held five yearly.

We seek representation on WARC-PACT world gatherings and send the official delegate from the UCA to the National Conference of the Australian Church Women.

The other area of responsibility is in the business and fellowship of Adult Groups nationally. These are the most visible in the consultation of Synod Committees which is arranged each triennium within three months before each Assembly, and in a conference which is a time of inspiration and spiritual growth open to all UCA adults.

The Synod Committees publish newsletters and some also produce worship and activity resources. These are not areas of responsibility of the National Committee.
