National Coordinating Group on Ministry with Children, Young People and their Families Membership:

Young People and their Families Terms Of Reference: Responsible to: Assembly Standing
Committee through the Secretariat Terms of Reference: Provide advice to the General Secretary on matters relevant to the responsibilities of the Assembly that impact on children and young people Facilitate communication between Assembly Agencies on issues affecting children and young people; and where appropriate coordination of action Be the vehicle through which relationships with Government and related agencies are effected, in relation to issues that affect children and young people, where the mandate of no Assembly agencies would otherwise connect with that issue Identify areas where research and policy development is needed for ministry with children and young people Identify training and leadership matters of national significance to the Uniting Church, and negotiate strategies with Synod agencies to address these opportunities Facilitate the linking of Assembly Agencies with appropriate Synod staff in the development of materials and policy on national issues affecting children and young people Assist as appropriate in negotiating national policy and projects with the synods Resource the Assembly when ecumenical and international partners need to relate to the UCA on matters related to children and youth Oversee and develop policy on behalf of the Assembly re national events / projects for children and young people Power to appoint: The National Coordinating Group may appoint such task groups and committees, from time to time, as will enable it to fulfill its responsibilities.
