Purpose
The Uniting Church's Beneficiary Fund is the superannuation
fund for ministers of the word, deacons and deaconesses. Employer and
member contributions are managed by a corporate trustee with twelve
people on the Board of Directors.
Activities
Directors are chosen on the basis of the skills they
bring to the Fund. Management is pro-active and operates within the
parameters set by government legislation and the Trust Deed. Eight staff
carry out a remarkably wide range of activities and responsibilities
including:
- Receipt of contributions;
- Compiling member details;
- Self insurance;
- Payment of pensions.
Education and public relations activities include:
Conducting seminars on resourcing ministry and preparing
for retirement;
Development of a new benefit design featuring simplicity, removal of
discrimination, and meeting present and future Superannuation Guarantee
Charge requirements. Members may transfer part or the whole of their
pension benefit into a lump sum at retirement or subsequently.
The National Home Acquisition Fund is located at the
Beneficiary Fund offices.
Resources
- Member booklet provided for new members on joining, and for other
members when a major change occurs.
- The Annual Report: sent to each member every year.
