Working Groups on Missiology and Evangelism |
Missiology and Evangelism are working together on specific objectives for the next two years. Our program includes
Organising a second national consultation on the Church's mission, scheduled for Melbourne in August 2002. Over 100 people attended the first consultation in July 2000 in Adelaide. Though the second consultation will use the insights and resources of the first, the 2002 event will be based on a new theme.
The second aspect of our program for the next two years is to establish an online "mission folio" resource. This resource will be accessible to all members of the Uniting Church and as a folio will include papers and reflections based on our experience of mission and evangelism in the Australian context. There are no limits on size but we would suggest about four to six pages as a good length. Papers may also report on projects and include stories of mission engagement. We already have a few documents available on-line and this number should grow over the next few months. If you can provide papers please let us know. It would greatly help us in our development. Please also tell your friends about our project. For more information, Contact us. Have a look at the papers we have so far.
We are persisting with our Email discussion group "missioninaustralia" which was established last year and we are hoping this will be an important part of what it means to be a learning community.
