The President’s Table

I want to see the Church expand and look outward at all times. The President's Table is a wonderful opportunity to sit down and enjoy a meal with members of the Church in each region of Australia.

Most importantly, it lets me interact with you, hear about how things are going and how things should be developing in the future. This strong contact we have with one another and the way in which we can talk openly is an important reason for developing the President's Table .

Who can join?

The President's Table is open to every member of the Uniting Church. It may be of particular interest for those members who have a special interest in the national and world life of the church. Members are asked to make an annual contribution of $100. Some adult fellowships decide to join as a group and ask different members to go to each gathering.

The Benefits

By joining the President's Table you will:

• have the chance, each year, to meet with the President and other national church leaders over a low-cost meal in your part of Australia and hear first hand about church action, needs, issues and plans.
• receive the newsletter Tabletalk twice a year. Tabletalk contains information on the national life of the church, particularly mission and service activities.
• have the opportunity to further assist in the mission of Jesus Christ.

Benefits to the Church

The President's Table has the potential to impact on the wider church by:

• giving the President a chance to talk and reflect with members of the Church in all walks of life
• creating a platform for the church to tell people what's happening on a national level particularly in the area of mission
• the creation of a fund for special mission projects that will be available to the whole church. Decisions for how that money is distributed will be made on the advice of leaders such as the President and General Secretary of the Uniting Church National Assembly

Tabletalk

Tabletalk contains information on the national life of the church, particularly mission and service activities as well as information about overseas and domestics trips made by the President.
